Where Wongamat is
Wongamat (Wong Amat Beach) is the calm, upmarket stretch of coast at the north end of Pattaya, in the Naklua area of Bang Lamung, Chonburi. It sits just north of Pattaya Beach but feels a world apart: a longer, cleaner beach, low-rise resorts beside beachfront condominiums, and a quieter, more residential pace that draws long-stay residents, families and retirees rather than nightlife crowds.
The name Wongamat is used both for the beach itself and for the surrounding condo district — one of the most sought-after residential addresses in Pattaya, with genuine beachfront projects that rarely come up elsewhere on the bay.
Wongamat Beach
Wongamat Beach (also written Wong Amat) runs about 2 km along the north end of Pattaya Bay, from the Sanctuary of Truth in the north to the rocky headland below The Cove in the south. The sand is pale and fine, the shore is lined with trees, beach clubs, seafood restaurants and low-rise resorts rather than bars.
Swimming is fine: buoyed zones keep swimmers apart from jet skis and boats. The water is calmest and clearest from November to April; in the rainy season (roughly May to October) there is some surf on windy days.
Reach the sand via Soi Naklua 16 and 18 or from the Sanctuary of Truth side. Several condominiums — Riviera, The Palm, Baan Plai Haad, Ananya, Arom — stand on the beach line or one to three minutes away on foot.

How do I get to Wongamat from central Pattaya?
By taxi (Bolt, Grab) it is about 10 minutes from Terminal 21 or Central Festival. Songthaews run along Naklua Road; from there it is a 5–10 minute walk down Soi Naklua 16 or 18 to the sea.
Wongamat or Jomtien — which is better to live in?
